Teenager Killed in Alpine Head-On Collision on South Grade Road
Alpine, California (December 13, 2017) – 17-year-old William Burton was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Alpine on Monday, December 11.
The collision occurred in the 2100 block of South Grade Road at Via Vejas Oeste about 8:30 p.m.
Burton, a football player at Granite Hills High School and two other teenagers were returning home after a football team event when the accident occurred.
He was a passenger in a Jeep whose driver lost control and collided head-on with a white Lexus which was traveling in the opposite direction.
Burton was killed in the collision
The 18-year-old driver of the Jeep and another passenger sustained moderate injuries. The two were taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego for treatment.
The 51-year-old driver of the Lexus and his 13-year-old female passenger suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
