6 Injured in Barstow Car Accident on East Main Street
Barstow, California (November 25, 2017) – Several people were injured after a vehicle crashed into a train in Barstow on Friday, November 24.
According to a local news release, the accident occurred at about 7:30 a.m. at the Barstow Station in the 1600 block of East Main Street.
Officials say a 69-year-old woman was driving her SUV when she accidentally accelerated while entering the station parking lot. The vehicle crashed through a fence and ended up crashing into a stopped train.
Six of the seven occupants of the SUV, including a 5-year-old girl, were injured in the accident.
The girl and a 50-year-old passenger sustained major injuries and were airlifted to a trauma center.
The driver and three passengers were reported to have sustained minor injuries and were taken to Barstow Community Hospital for treatment.
An investigation is ongoing.
