Tommy Vanthida in Willows Car Crash on Highway 99 and County Road 18
Glenn County, California (May 14, 2019) – 66-year-old Tommy Vanthida of Red Bluff has been identified as the passenger injured after a traffic crash Sunday afternoon in the area of Willows, Glen County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at around 1:00 p.m. Sunday, May 12, on Highway 99 and County Road 18.
As per the CHP officials, a 58-year-old Lianxay Louankang was driving a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck on County Road when he failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was hit by an oncoming Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by Clint Johns, 25, of Orland at the junction. The impact caused the Toyota to strike an olive tree.
The two cars came to a rest on their wheels after the crash.
Vanthida, a Toyota passenger, suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash. Decamp who was also a passenger in the Silverado was transported to Enloe Medical Center by an ambulance for treatment. Both Johns and Louankang suffered minor injuries in the accident.
The two cars sustained major damage following the crash.
Officials did not suspect drugs or alcohol to be factors in the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
