Man Killed in Arvin Two-Car Accident on Bear Mountain Boulevard Identified
Arvin, California (December 6, 2017) – Scott Demunnik, 41, was identified as the man killed in a suspected DUI collision in Arvin on Monday, December 4.
The head-on collision occurred on Highway 223, also known as Bear Mountain Boulevard, at about 7:30 a.m.
According to a local news report, 26-year-old Kylie C. Sluder was traveling eastbound in her Toyota Prius when for unknown reasons, her car veered across the centerline into the westbound lanes and collided head-on with an oncoming Dodge Stratus operated by Demunnik.
Demunnik, a resident of Caliente, was killed in the collision.
Sluder, a resident of Santa Paula, sustained major internal injuries and was taken to Kern Medical.
Although an investigation is ongoing, Sluder was arrested for felony DUI.
