Elderly Man Injured in Southcrest Pedestrian Accident at 35th Street and National Avenue
San Diego, California (November 13, 2017) – An elderly man was injured in a pedestrian accident in the Southcrest neighborhood of San Diego on Friday, November 10.
The 8:45 a.m. pedestrian accident occurred at the intersection of 35th Street and National Avenue.
Officials say the 87-year-old man was crossing National Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle which was turning onto the same road from 35th Street.
The pedestrian sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the 52-year-old female driver of the maroon Toyota Yaris reportedly stayed at the scene after the incident and cooperated with the authorities.
The names of the victim and the motorist was not immediately revealed.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
