Osmond Akbar ID’d as Man Killed in Oakland Motorcycle Accident on Claremont Avenue
Oakland, California (April 20, 2019) – The man killed in a motorcycle accident Thursday evening in Oakland has been identified as 26-year-old Osmond Akbar of Oakland, according to the Alameda County coroner’s bureau.
The deadly collision happened a while after 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18, in the 6000 block of Claremont Avenue, at Hillegass Avenue.
According to the authorities, Akbar was riding his 2008 Yamaha R6 motorcycle when he crashed into a Honda Civic for reasons still under investigation.
Responding firefighters rushed Akbar to a local hospital where he died.
Officials blocked Claremont Avenue for several hours to give way to an on-scene investigation.
No additional information concerning this incident was provided.
An investigation is ongoing.
