2 Killed and 1 Injured in Oroville DUI Crash on Highway 70 near Palermo Road
Oroville, California (November 21, 2017) – Mason Oakes, 20, and Ryan Jensen, 18, were killed in an alleged DUI crash in Oroville, Butte County, on Sunday, November 19.
According to a local news source, the accident occurred at about 5 p.m. on Highway 70 near Palermo Road.
According to a statement by the authorities, Marc Edward Andrews, 47, is reported to have been driving his Chevy Cruze westbound at a high rate of speed when he failed to yield to a stop sign and collided with a 2001 Toyota Echo which was traveling south at the time.
Oakes and Jensen, both residents of Yuba County, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Andrews sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Enloe Medical Center in Chico for treatment.
Andrews, a resident of Oroville, was cited for DUI.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
