2 Killed in Fresno DUI Crash on Kings Canyon Avenue near Temperance Avenue
Fresno, California (December 11, 2017) – A couple was killed in an alleged DUI traffic accident on Saturday, December 9, according to a local news source.
As per the report, the accident was reported at about 2:45 a.m. on Kings Canyon Avenue near Temperance Avenue.
A man and his wife were reported to have been traveling east on Kings Canyon Avenue when their red Honda was rear-ended by a black Toyota operated by 25-year-old Michael Robert Merritt-Hutchins.
The man and woman sustained fatal injuries at the scene. Their identities were withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
Merritt-Hutchins was injured in the collision and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in unknown condition.
Merritt-Hutchins was arrested for DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
An investigation is ongoing.
