Man Killed in Salinas Pedestrian Accident at Main Street and Rochex Avenue
Salinas, California (December 12, 2017) – A pedestrian was killed in an alleged hit-and-run collision on Sunday, December 10.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Main Street and Rochex Avenue at around 12:06 p.m.
The pedestrian, a man in his 40s or 50s, was in a crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle.
The unidentified man sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead a short time later.
Meanwhile, the authorities located and arrested the motorist who fled the scene after the accident. The driver was identified as 36-year-old Sonia Cano.
Cano, a Monterey County probation officer, faces charges including DUI, vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run.
