Man Killed in Long Beach Pedestrian Accident on 605 Freeway at Spring Street
Long Beach, California (January 2, 2018) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle early Monday morning, January 1, according to a California Highway Report
The accident was reported at around 2:45 a.m. on the northbound 605 Freeway at Spring Street.
While the circumstances of the collision were yet to be established, the responding officials found a man lying unresponsive in the No.3 lane after he was struck by a car. Upon evaluation, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the deceased was not immediately revealed.
Authorities shut down northbound lanes for about two hours. Traffic was diverted off at Katella Avenue.
An investigation into the accident is being conducted by the Long Beach Fire and CHP Santa Fe Springs departments.
