Lacisha Atkins Sought after Berkeley Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accident at Ashby Avenue and Fulton Street
Berkeley, California (April 16, 2019) – 45-year-old Lacisha Atkins of Berkeley has been identified as the suspect wanted in connection with a hit-and-run bicycle collision last month, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at about 3:45 p.m. March 2, at Ashby Avenue and Fulton Street.
As per the CHP officials, Atkins struck 75-year-old Julian Curran of Berkeley for reasons yet to be determined. Julian suffered severe injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
Sadly, Julian died on April 5 at his home. It remains unclear whether Julian died as result of the injuries sustained in the crash or other health issues.
Atkins, the involved driver fled the scene and abandoned the vehicle at Fulton Street.
Authorities have issued a felony arrest warrant for Atkins.
An investigation is underway.
