2 Killed and 1 Injured in Irwindale Wrong-Way Car Crash on Ramona Boulevard
Irwindale, California (November 20, 2017) – At least two people were killed in a wrong-way suspected DUI collision in Irwindale, Los Angeles, on Saturday, November 18.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at about 12:30 a.m. on the southbound lanes of Ramona Boulevard.
According to a local news source, a woman was driving her 2002 Honda Odyssey when she entered the freeway in a wrong direction and collided head-on with a 2013 Dodge Challenger operated by the a man in his 20s.
The woman, believed to be in her 30s, and the driver of the Dodge were killed in the collision.
A passenger in the Dodge, a 23-year-old woman from Los Angeles, sustained major injuries including a collapsed lung and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
The names of the victims were not immediately established.
Meanwhile, authorities confirmed that the woman was intoxicated at the time of the collision.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
