Woman Killed in Soquel Pedestrian Accident at Rosedale Avenue and Soquel Drive
Soquel, California (December 4, 2017) – Kathryn Stokes, 86, of Capitola, was killed in a pedestrian accident in Santa Cruz on Saturday, December 2.
The fatal pedestrian accident was reported at about 5 p.m. in the area of Rosedale Avenue and Soquel Drive.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the woman was walking across a road at the intersection when a car struck her. The impact of the collision threw the pedestrian over a fence.
Stokes sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the authorities located and arrested the driver of the blue 2002 Lincoln who had fled the scene of the accident. The motorist was identified as 21-year-old Julissa Guzman.
The motorist faces multiple charges including felony hit-and-run, DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
