Man Killed in Malibu Pedestrian Accident on Pacific Coast Highway
Malibu, California (November 30, 2017) – 28-year-old Juan Antonio Castillo, of Inglewood, died after being hit by a stolen vehicle on Wednesday, November 29.
According to a local news release, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred at about 8 a.m. in the 27500 block of Pacific Coast Highway.
The report indicates that the police were chasing a suspect who was driving a stolen car when the vehicle crashed into several parked vehicles before striking the man who was emptying trash near the roadway.
The man, who was a gardener in a nearby home, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect sustained moderate injuries in the collision and was hospitalized.
The vehicle is reported to have caught fire after the collision.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident.
