Jose Santoyo Killed, Another Seriously Injured in Container Terminal Accident in Port of LA Accident
San Pedro, California (May 16, 2019) – Authorities have identified the man who died in an industrial accident that happened Wednesday morning in San Pedro, as per a local news source.
According to authorities, the incident happened at about 7:25 a.m. at Fenix Marine Services at Pier 300 near the 600 block of E. Terminal Way.
The deceased, 58-year-old Jose Santoyo and another worker were moving containers unloaded from ships docked at the terminal when a top loader tire blew out.
Santoyo sustained major injuries and died in the accident. The other worker, only identified as a man, was taken to Harbor UCLA Medical Center with serious head injuries.
Authorities are investigating the factors that may have led to the accident.
