Teen Killed in Orcutt Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident at Highway 135 and Goodwin Identified
Orcutt, California (November 16, 2017) – Jennifer Ayala Benitez, 18, of Palmdale, was identified as the teenager who was killed in an alleged hit-and-run pedestrian accident in Orcutt on Sunday, November 12.
According to the CHP, the fatal accident occurred in the area of Highway 135 and Goodwin Road at an unspecified time.
The teenager had been crossing a road at the intersection when she was struck by a red SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer.
The SUV sped off after striking the pedestrian.
Ayala was pronounced dead at the scene by the responding paramedics.
The California Highway Patrol has since located the suspected vehicle. Forensic inspection to determine whether it was involved is yet to be performed.
