Woman Killed in Santa Clara Multi-Vehicle Collision on U.S. Highway 101 Identified
Santa Clara, California (November 14, 2017) – Jaime Pena, 20, of San Jose, was identified as the woman killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Santa Clara on Sunday, November 12, according to a local news source.
According to the CHP, the fatal collision occurred on U.S. Highway 101 shortly before 4:30 a.m.
The deceased was a passenger in a black BMW sedan which was struck by a Toyota minivan. A big rig is said to have hit one of the vehicles a short time after the initial collision.
Pena died at the scene.
Officials say Juan Obiedo, 29, of San Jose, who was driving the BMW sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized.
As per the report, Obiedo was cited for DUI and may face additional charges upon conclusion of the investigation into the collision.
