Fernando Morales Injured in Napa Pedestrian Crash on Highway 29 near First Street
Napa, California (April 15, 2019) – 51-year-old Fernando Morales of Concord was injured after a traffic accident Saturday night in the area of Napa, according to authorities.
The crash happened a while before 8:58 p.m. Saturday, April 13 on northbound Highway 29 near the First Street interchange.
As per the CHP officials, a 25-year-old Napa man was walking along the shoulder of the highway and was attempting to cross to the west from the east when he was struck by a northbound 2001 GMC driven by Morales.
Morales reportedly tried to swerve to avoid the pedestrian but were unsuccessful.
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision.
Responding firefighters transported Morales to a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
No additional information concerning this collision was provided.
An investigation is ongoing.
