1 Killed in Holtville Car Crash near Holt and Norrish Road in Holtville
Holtville, California (June 11, 2019) – One person was killed after a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in the area of Holtville, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at an unspecified time Monday, June 10, near Holt and Norrish Road.
As per the CHP officials, a semi-truck and a pickup truck crashed for reasons still under investigation.
The impact sent the pickup truck in a canal. An off-duty sheriff’s officer and bystanders dove in to attempt to save the motorist but were unsuccessful.
The driver was declared dead at the scene. The name of the victim has not been released awaiting notification of next of kin.
Authorities believe a possible violation of a right of way with a stop sign might have led to the crash.
An investigation is underway.
