Boy Killed in Long Beach Bicycle Accident at Woodruff Avenue and Conant Street Identified
Long Beach, California (November 16, 2017) – Eric Dagel, 12, of Lakewood, was identified as the boy who was fatally struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle in Long Beach on Thursday, November 9.
The deadly collision occurred at about 3:55 p.m. in the area of Woodruff Avenue and Conant Street.
As per a local news source, Eric and her sister were riding their bicycles in a crosswalk when they were struck by an SUV driven by 39-year-old Lakewood man.
The two, students at Marshall Academy for the Arts, were riding home from school when the accident occurred.
Eric was and her sister sustained major injuries and were rushed to a hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the boy succumbed to his injuries.
An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
