1 Killed and 6 Injured in Bakersfield Car Crash at 77th Avenue and International Boulevard
Oakland, California (November 22, 2017) – Darwin De Leon Nolasco, 19, was killed in a traffic accident at an intersection in Oakland on Sunday, November 19.
The fatal multi-vehicle collision was reported in the area of 77th Avenue and International Boulevard at about 1 a.m.
According to a local news source, Nolasco was driving his 2004 Mazda when he collided with a Ford Explorer for unknown reasons. The impact of the collision sent the Explorer into the path of a Honda Accord resulting in a head-on collision.
Nolasco sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
Nolasco’s passenger, a man from Oakland, was injured in the collision and was hospitalized.
The driver of the Explorer and his three passengers were also injured in the collision and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The female driver of the Accord was unhurt but her two passengers were treated at the scene and released.
Although the cause of the collision is yet to be established, officials believe that the driver of the Explorer was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
