Woman Killed in Oakland Pedestrian Accident at 98th Avenue and Sunnyside Street
Oakland, California (January 4, 2018) – 18-year-old Chauntel Dunkley-Rochelle of Oakland, was identified as the woman who was killed in a suspected hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Monday morning, December 1, according to a local news source.
The accident occurred at around 5:00 a.m. in the area of 98th Avenue and Sunnyside Street.
Officials said that the female pedestrian was struck by a dark-colored vehicle which was traveling southbound on 98th Avenue.
Dunkley-Rochelle was rushed to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, the police are yet to locate the driver of the sedan who fled the scene after hitting the woman.
An investigation is ongoing.
