2 Pilots Killed after Crop Duster Planes Collided on Pleasant Grove Road in Pleasant Grove Identified
Sutter County, California (May 16, 2019) – The two pilots who died after their planes collided Wednesday in Pleasant Grove have been identified, as per a local news source.
The Sutter County Sheriff’s Office said the two were 52-year-old Brian Van Dyke and 58-year-old Burton “Burt” Haughey.
The pair of crop duster planes collided at around noon near the 3870 block of Pleasant Grove Road.
Dyke and Haughey died in the accident.
It remained unclear why the two single-engine Grumman G-164 Ag Cats collided.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the factors that led to the crash.
