1 Killed and 2 Injured in Valley Springs 3-Car Accident on Highway 26
Valley Springs, California (November 29, 2017) – Brenda McCann, 65, of Valley Springs, was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on Monday, November 27.
According to the CHP log, the fatal three-vehicle collision occurred on Highway 26 at about 6:30 p.m.
Officials responding to the incident recovered a 2005 Ford, a Jeep and a 2014 Ford at the scene of the accident.
The report indicates that McCann was a passenger in the westbound Jeep driven by 19-year-old Wade McCann. The two were stopped waiting to make a turn at an intersection when their vehicle was hit from behind by the 2005 Ford operated by 29-year-old Mark Lineeman, of Modesto.
The impact of the collision sent the Jeep across the centerline into the eastbound lanes where it collided with an oncoming 2014 Ford driven by Rudi Leon.
Brenda sustained major injuries and was transported to Mark Twain Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries shortly after admission.
Wade was evaluated at the scene and released.
Lineeman and Leon were hurt and were hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
While the cause of the accident is yet to be established, intoxication was ruled out as a factor in the accident.
We offer our heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of Brenda McCann. We wish them peace and comfort during this period of grief.
