Baljinder Kular, Telvin Sauveur, Edgar Cruz and Courtney Williams Hurt in Car Crash on 5 Freeway near Flores Avenue in Corning, Tehama County
Corning, California (June 12, 2019) – Four people were hospitalized after being injured in a traffic collision involving big rigs in Corning, Tehama County, on Tuesday.
The accident reportedly happened in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 Freeway near Flores Avenue at around noon.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, traffic was slowed in the northbound lanes of the freeway due to a previous traffic incident when a truck driven by 42-year-old Baljinder Kular of British Columbia, failed to stop and rear-ended a big rig driven by Courtney L. Williams, 22, of Florida.
The impact of the crash caused Williams truck to crash into a third truck operated by Edgar Rodriguez Cruz, 62, of Livingston.
Kular was seriously injured in the crash and was flown to a local hospital for treatment.
Williams and her passenger, 23-year-old Telvin Sauveur of Orlando, were taken to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Cruz was also hospitalized with minor injuries.
No further information was provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
