Antonio Navarrete Killed in Sacramento Crash at El Camino Avenue and Evergreen Street
Sacramento, California (May 16, 2018) – A man was killed in an accident Saturday morning in Sacramento, according to a local news report.
The deadly accident took place at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday, May 12 at the intersection of El Camino Avenue and Evergreen Street.
According to authorities, Antonio Navarrete, believed to be in his 20’s, was traveling through the intersection when his vehicle was T-boned by Xoury Soukouang, 38.
Police responded to the scene and they found the man trapped in the driver’s seat.
Navarrete was declared deceased at the scene.
Authorities said Navarrete worked as a bartender at Zocalo restaurant in the UV shopping center near Fair Oaks Boulevard and Howe Avenue. He was driving home at the time of the crash.
Soukouang was taken to a hospital with minor injuries and later arrested for suspicion of felony DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.
The Sacramento Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
