Four Injured in Sonora 2-Car Crash on Highway 108
Sonora, California (November 14, 2017) – Four people were injured in an alleged DUI two-vehicle collision in Sonora on the morning of Sunday, November 12.
The head-on collision reportedly occurred on Highway 108.
According to the CHP log, 36-year-old Roberto Martinez-Lira was traveling eastbound in a Cadillac Escalade when he crossed the centerline into the opposite lanes and collided head-on with a Toyota RAV4 operated by Alonso Solis-Tolentino, 43.
Solis-Tolentino, a resident of Sonora, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
Martinez-Lira, of Salinas, suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized at Adventist Health Sonora.
Alejandro R. Bonilla, 47, and Bobby A. Nolasco, 18, both of Colton, who were passengers in the Cadillac sustained unspecified injuries.
As per the report, Martinez-Lira was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
