Man Killed in Tipton Car Accident on Highway 190 near Highway 99
Tipton, California (December 9, 2017) – A man was killed in a traffic accident involving a big rig in Tulare County on Thursday, December 7.
The head-on collision occurred on Highway 190 near Highway 99 at about 4 a.m.
According to a report by the CHP, the man had been driving his 1994 Chevrolet pickup truck on Highway 190 when for unknown reasons, his vehicle crossed the centerline and collided head-on with an oncoming Freightliner.
The big rig reportedly overturned after the collision.
The pickup truck driver, who was not properly restrained, was ejected from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by the responding paramedics. The identity of the man was withheld.
The 26-year-old driver of the big rig was unhurt.
No further information was provided.
An investigation to establish the cause of the accident is ongoing.
