1 Killed and 4 Injured in Santa Clara Valley 2-Car Crash at Monroe Street and Bowers Avenue
Santa Clara Valley, California (January 9, 2018) – A teenager was killed and four other people injured in a two-vehicle collision in Santa Clara Valley on Sunday night, January 7.
According to a local news report, the accident occurred at about 10:22 p.m. at the intersection of Monroe Street and Bowers Avenue.
A 17-year-old boy was reportedly driving his Acura Integra westbound on Monroe and was trying to turn onto northbound Bowers Avenue when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a Toyota Highlander which was stopped at a red light on Bowers.
The impact of the collision sent the Highlander into the front yard of a home where it overturned onto its side.
The boy was killed in the collision. His identity was not immediately revealed.
Four occupants of the Highlander were hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
An investigation is underway.
